Alan Houtz was born and raised in Mapleton and learned from his dad to work with wood, and to take pride in his work. Alan’s love for his hometown made it the perfect place for his business. After working in the cabinet industry for over 30 years, gaining experience on both local projects and custom homes from California to Boston, he established Houtz Woodworks in 2011.
Houtz Woodworks is a custom shop that produces quality product at competitive pricing and can help
you with your woodworking
needs from cabinetry to furniture.
Alan has training in antique restoration and finish matching and has extensive experience working with homeowners on remodel projects as well as new construction.
Wendy is trained in and utilizes CAD software to design cabinetry and produce renderings that help
clients visualize their project, enabling ease of collaboration
with both clients and designers.
Together they have a unique ability to combine functionality and aesthetics to create a functional, yet beautiful finished product.
Alan and Wendy take pride in
every project. They handle each
one personally and will see your project through from design work
to final installation.
With Houtz Woodworks the possibilities are unlimited when creating your dream home.
Wendy joined Team Houtz in 2015 and became a Houtz Woodworks team member a year later. She also fell in love with Mapleton, and they have since purchased, remodeled, and now live in Alan’s childhood home. Alan and Wendy spend many date nights working together at the shop, but love spending time with kids and grandkids, and get away for adventures when they can.
